Weird Glitch When Video Loads

Dont waste your time Dj Steve, Shit isn't gonna work Ive formatted 2 Brand new Hard drive Reinstalled everything Fresh, From Serato 1.9.2 to 2.2 Nothing Changed, Ive built Overviews 3 times no Difference, so don't waste your time Thats not the Problem I can assure you. I ve done everything short of buying a brand new Macbook Pro, I just bought my latest Macbook Pro 6 months ago, now theres a new macbook Pro out so Im about to go buy it. If when I buy this new macbook Pro and it Starts Glitching I guess Ill stick to Vsl

Thanks for you input guys, don't think I gonna buy a new laptop anytime soon as they ain't cheap but I'm definitely gonna get one as a backup later but then if I get it working on my new one then for VJing this one would be redundant so I don't win :-(

I got a Temporary fix, If you ever play with ME and it doesn't Glitch When your done at the end of the night don't close it, Just hide it, dont close Serato either, Ive played all week this way and had no Glitches, I know it suxs that when your done you Cant shut it down, but Ive haven,t had a Problem for 3 nights straight, Im not sure why sometime you'll have a night and it will glitch, and then some Nights it wont glitch at all. If you have a night or a day where it doesn't Glitch DON'T SHUT IT DOWN!!! Untill we find a fix.

I still believe the problem is with SSL as I've mentioned before. I can get video stutter when just loading a video into SSL when I'm playing an audio only gig. Once the VSL is turned on with buffer level set to 1GB I can't get it to stutter. Don't know why this happens but it does, could be something to do with the way SSL buffers the loading video track when VSL is turned on, with it not turned on you can get the stutter in SSL too so I don't believe the fault is with ME but then that doesn't help us either!!

Sad to say I just purchased a New macbook Pro 13 and I have no Problem with Glitches so far heres the specs. But damn had to buy a new macbook to get around the Problem seems a bit extreme. Well, I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the new MacBook. I've been following djsteve's help request on the Serato forums, and it doesn't appear that he has resolved the issue yet.

Yes I think and its just My opinion that The macbook s May have Problems in maybe 00.1% of them. Im more then certain it was the Macbook Pro I use to use my new Macbook has a I5 Processor and I have had no Problem at all with glitches or anything. Dj Steve you may Want to Trade Macbook or take it to apple store and tell them to take a look.

Hi guys, I think you may be right as it is certainly not getting any better for me. I have done everything I can think of short of wiping my laptop which I know okdoggman has already done. Buying a new MacBook is more than extreme but I am looking at getting a backup laptop in the future. I've not had this one that long and they ain't cheap!! I will go to an Apple store and see what they say but I wouldn't hold up much hope. Have spoken to Apple help online as it's such a new laptop & was told that they don't support 3rd party software and that my laptop is working perfectly fine.

Thanks for the update DJ Steve. Buying a new computer is definitely not an ideal solution (especially when the cause of the problem isn't fully understood).

I have been having the video stutter thingy happening to my system also. MBP Unibody 2.66ghz, 4gb RAM, Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT. Scratch Live 2.2. Mix Emergency 1.6.1 I have no audio performance problems and i know my scratch live runs well with me also running. The videos are okay when i am playing them but i can see stuttering every couple of frames and its buggin me. Personally i feel this happened when i updated ME to 1.6.1 or when i updated the macbook security update but im not too sure and i feel one of these things is the factor for the stuttering. Hope there is some kind of solution to it..

djpesh, it sounds as though you're having a different problem (i.e. it's not audio related). Try adjusting the Refresh Rate for your external monitor and see if that makes any difference.

No news yet on a fix guys but I've gone down the okdoggman route and bought a new MacBook pro 15'' i7 2ghz & have had no issues what so ever with glitches. I'm still trying to get my old laptop working though and its gonna take me some time. Will keep you informed when I have any news.

Well, it looks as though some of your videos have been encoded in a way that is not optimal for MixEmergency (i.e. the keyframe spacing is high). The only way to remedy that is to re-encode those videos (from the original source if possible), and make sure that you encode them with a smaller keyframe distance (around 25 is recommended). However, often the keyframe issue won't actually cause any noticeable effects for you. If that's the case, then I would just leave your videos as they are (it's not an uncommon issue). Also, I would recommend upgrading to MixEmergency 1.7 (which is free for registered users).

If it's not creating any other problem than the warnings, then I would ignore it for now. Your cache setting is fine. And yes, I would recommend that you upgrade to MixEmergency 1.7.
