Weird Glitch When Video Loads

Thx Actually Ive been using 1.9.2 it seems more stable but I have great news, I reinstalled ME and I had no Problems, Played great no Glitches Or any stress. Do you think I should upgrade to 2.2? My advice is if you get these Glitches Erase All folders associated with Me and Uninstall ME, do a fresh Reinstall. Don't know why I didn't think of erasing all folders and starting over. Well it worked Thx Nick Shows That this Products Site at least will Jump in With Consumers and trouble shoot.

Hmmm, I'm not sure why re-installing would fix this issue. Do you still have those folders available (maybe in your Mac OS Trash folder), or did you delete them completely? I'd be keen to have a look over them. As far as upgrading to 2.2.... well, I just recommend using whichever version you are comfortable with.

Yeah Ive erased them Damn!!! I wish I would have kept them if i knew you needed them, Sorry Nick. but Ill play for a couple of days and see if everything is cool.

Still getting Glitches, I dont see what Im doing wrong I Have even reformatted A new Drive and Reinstalled my Os Serato and ME still Glitching?

Instead of me just asking what you have your Preferences set to, could you just e-mail me the your preferences file. You can find this file here: ~/Library/Preferences/com.inklen.MixEmergency.plist (where ~ is your user folder) Perhaps you could also archive and send me your MixEmergency folder (which is in your Movies folder).

Im having this same problem and it had been happening for about 3 weeks now. When i load a video (not every video) it stutters or glitches. I have up graded my RAM to 8gb and put a new hd in and started everything from day one. Still glitches. Today i did an event that i didnt have to use ME and it ran perfect, but as soon as i opened it up to show someone it glitched for the next 30 min. I closed ME and ran perfect again. Like okdoggman said the product is awesome and would not want to switch to using VSL. Please I NEED YOUR HELP! Can you try reducing the cache size, in Advanced section of MixEmergency's preferences, to the lowest setting and see if this helps at all?

It has been on 200mb from day one. It seems like after it gets warmed up it starts to glitch.

So you're saying that it doesn't glitch for the first few videos? The next time you see it glitching, can you open the Activity Monitor application. I would be interested to know the following: - Disk Activity (how much data is being red/written per second, and is there a spike in the disk activity graph when the glitch occurred) - CPU usage (is it maxed out) - System Memory usage (i.e. how much is free) Also, have you batch analysed all of your files with the version of Scratch Live that you're using?

Two other possibilities come to mind besides what's already been mentioned: If your computer is heating up a lot, it might be starting to "throttle" itself (slowing itself down). Using SMCFanControl (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontrol) to speed up the computer's internal fans when DJ-ing will probably help, if that's the case. I've used that software for several years now, it works great. It also gives you a useful menubar indicator of CPU temperature. I have a setting for SMCFanControl where the fans are at max, and I run them that way whenever DJ-ing with video. Secondly check in your System Preferences/Energy Saver and make sure the item "Put hard Disk(s) to sleep when possible" is NOT checked.

well i was doin that one before Mark but since if you got and old pre unibody macbook pro like mine late 2007 you will need to change your fans, this is what happened to my mbp now after i change it it doesnt heat that much compared before...:) before i used to max out the smc fan control to 6000rpm but no result...with the new fan right now just 4000rpm its works like a charm..:)

Ive Been trying my best to find a solution but not Luck? on my macbook 13 it runs Perfect, but on My macbook pro 13 Glitches, Just Like Dj Bwill was saying it doesnt Glitch every video? If I close M.E it plays perfect, If I use Vsl I have no Problem?

Something for you guys to try. I loaded 100 videos without glitches last night and 50 odd today at home. Assuming everyone has Perian installed, just delete it and let me know how you get on. Will be doing proper 5 hour gig test this Weds nite and will let you know how it goes. MacBook Pro 13'' SSL 2.2 Latest ME Uninstalled Perian decoder

Something else to try (and another thing that djsteve has done) is to increase the USB buffer setting in Scratch Live.

Update! The Glitch is back, 24 hours later, not as bad IMO as b4 but it's definitely back :-( P.S. I can't take the credit for deleting Perian I afraid, Nick & myself are trying everything to get this sorted & I thought after initial testing that this was the fix
