Well I will build my own. But its always a good place to start looking at what other people use live and deciding for yourself if you like that or how you would want it better. Plus I am VERY new to OSC and and I am still not sure on its capabilities. Nick I have questions for you: I want my ipad to display what efx are currently loaded into each deck and on the master channel. Also what transition is being use at the moment would be nice to have displayed too. Do you know how todo this? Do i send it over midi or OSC. can i do both. I'm really not sure where to even start at the moment. Any ideas?

Currently it is not possible to send the text of the current effect/transition from MixEmergency.

Well that sucks. Take that as a Feature requesto for 2.1 please :) 2 other request. I want you to change the way the presets window works. Where it has you select output A, B, Mid (mid should be renames to master), Safe, and Act (active). Instead of those all being 1 midi signal I would like to see each on of them become there own button. I have programmed 3 buttons to select which deck i want but i cant get feedback working to them. Also i would like you todo the same thing with the page selector for the presets. By page i mean when switching between efx, transitions, quartz, ect. I Want each one to be there own button please, Not all on 1 midi control that you would change with a fader. By doing this i will also be able to get feedback to work correctly. Thanks again nick for your time :) Oh ya one more thing, Really hoping we get an expanded media back in 2.1 :)

Code:E, Whilst I use Lemur instead of TouchOSC, they both work exactly the same in these respects: I have hard coded the names into the template and by using ME's midi output to keep Lemur updated with and state changes, the template displays the effect/transition names as needed. In other words, all the names are stored in the template, and ME just sends MIDI to it as a reference. As for the output selects/page selectors etc, you do realise a MIDI command doesn't have to be "on/off". Using a control change (CC) you can vary the level of the note from 0-127. For example to create 5 buttons for the 5 states of the output select, you take the 128 range, divide by 5 to give you steps of 25.6. As long as you program the output parameter of the button to transmit at a position within steps of 25.6, it will switch to the corresponding output. Hope that helps... If not get Lemur (with is much nicer than TouchOSC imo) and I'll send you over a template Ben

I'm sure it will help some guy some day. I would love to get your file on the efx names just to learn some more and see if i can adapte it to touch osc.

ME only sees the single MIDI CC and depending on what level it's at depends on what state it switches to. To get feedback working (works in Lemur not tried in Touch) you simply then add an output to the same MIDI patch on the same CC number and channel. Then when you vary the state using either the trackpad or another MIDI device, the Lemur/Touch will follow it. In Lemur (not sure if the same control exists in Touch) I have used a 'menu' control which automatically scales the channel level depending on how many options you add to the drop down which makes life a lot simpler. This control also switches with the MIDI feedback.

https://picasaweb.google.com/108650008885107552646/June292012#5759434131256154498 I don't have a copy of TouchOSC editor on my MBP however from what I remember it is a very similar interface to Lemurs. Have taken a screenshot (above) of the mappings section. In this dialog, where you set the output parameters, the section you change is the 'scale'. As the control is a button (on/off), it ignores the lower boundary (which is used for rotaries/faders etc) and outputs the upper boundary when the button is activated. At the moment it is set to 0-127 (i.e. if the button is pressed it will output a level of 127). If you change that 127 to a value within the 25.6 steps, it will output the reduced level ME needs to differentiate between the states. Hope that helps. If you can't find it in Touch editor, I'll download a copy on another computer and have a look myself but I'm almost certain it can be done.

I just looked again and its doesn't. There no way to change any of the received midi setting. Maybe i should have bought Lemur.

@ code E and BenJamInn thanks for you pointers in this thread. I recently started messing with TouchOSC and I also got Lemur today. BenJamInn is it possible to post the template you have for Lemur just to get a starting point. It would be much appreciated. BTW CodeE I also used ur template as a start point for TouchOSC thanks for uploading that.

ME obviously needs MIDI mapping with the correct values and would need the corresponding transitions/effects saved as presets in the same way as I use them for the dynamic labeling to work. That said, it is easy enough to change the labels depending on how you have you presets saved. (i.e. don't expect to just load the template and it to work straight out the box!!) If you have any problems with understanding the scripting, I'll try and help the best I can :) Ben

Phatbob, No worries mate, I know you were interested in the text side... When I made the template, I started with the Effects page which I labled Banks 1-6. In the world of Lemur where everything needs it's own uniquie identifier, on the transition page the text labels start from "Bank7" up to "Bank 12". If you make use of the other presets, you would need to increment the bank numbers yet again... Am sure you would have sussed it, but thought it best to point it out to avoid any early confusion..!

Nah, that's perfect mate. Like everything else in Lemur, it just helps to have someone show you the method, then you can usually work it out from there. My template is going to be totally redone next week now! You've opened the doors of perception once again Sir!

Hi BenJamInn. Been messing with the template you posted. Cool stuff going on with the Dynamic Labelling. Im having trouble though locating the script that's changing the actual text names based on the menu selection can u point me to where that is. Probably missing something really obvious but might as well ask.
