Hey inklen. Before i start let me say your software is great. I am running M.E. on a 2.6 Ghz Core 2 duo MBP with 4 gigs of ram and 512 MB video card. Videos on a external hard drive linked to laptop via fire wire 800. I tried running the live video feed plug in last night using a canon camcorder via fire wire 400. The problem i encountered was that every time i plugged the camera into the laptop i would loose my hard drive connection. A pop up would show stating that the hardware was improperly removed. The only way to get the hard drive on again was by disconnecting the camera. So i am wondering, is there a limit within the laptop that only let's the user plug in one fire wire device at a time ? Or maybe a setting i have to change. By the way, i used a 14 foot cable to plug the camera into the laptop, not sure if the long length of cable might have an effect on it.
