ME - 62 Mapping

Prior to my show last night, I mapped the faders on my 62 to ME. Worked perfectly. However, when I arrived at the show, not only did they faders not work in ME, when I attempted to remap them it would no longer work in ME. Naturally I was was in the middle of a show, so I couldn't just shut it down. This was just one of a couple of issues I had during my show last night. Any idea what my mapping problem could have been?

Sorry - I have no idea how I missed this post the first time around. That's odd. I assume that you're using one of the Rane SL boxes for Scratch Live. Did you plug this into your USB ports prior to plugging in the Rane 62? I recall someone mentioning that it may need to be done in that order.

I did...I tried starting up multiple ways. I had a show last night and once again, I couldn't map the cross fader. You mentioned something in a different post telling someone about deleting some xml file. What exactly was that? Will it work for this situation?

That's odd. Can you download and try this app: http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ And first check that the computer is actually receiving a MIDI signal from the mixer.

Also, once you have the Rane 62 plugged in, go the to the MIDI window of MixEmergency, and check that it is selected as an input source in the Inputs and Outputs section.

as long as serato is closed it doesn't matter the order you plug in the SL box and the sixty-two. plug both in and start ssl 2.3.3 and lower. you should see the sixty in the midi window. just make sure it's selected in both in and out. as Nick suggested if this still doesn't work use MIDIMonitor to see if you can see midi coming out of the sixty-two.

@djnyce...When you say I should see the sixty two in the midi window...are you referring to in scratchlive? What do you mean by make sure it's selected in both in and out?

@Nick...It's definitely receiving Midi signal because I'm able to map other things. Like I can control effects parameters from the sixty two, and other things, it just won't map the faders (UP nor Cross) anymore. This is really getting frustrating I have a show in 3 hours...

djnyce is talking about the MIDI window in MixEmergency (go to the Window menu, then select MIDI). On this window you can select the MIDI inputs and outputs. On this window you can also log MIDI events. So, perhaps you can try moving the crossfader while the logging is enabled to see what MixEmergency is receiving MIDI. There's also a MIDI in/out indicator that will briefly turn green when MixEmergency sends or receives MIDI.
