Yes, it should be fine. I wouldn't recommend using it to mix HD videos though.

i have tried to mix videos but the are sluggish in playback..should i convert the video to a smaller size or what do you recommend ?what video size should be suitable for my macbook?and what video converter should i use?

I would recommend videos with dimensions of 640x480, or 640x360. Also, I would recommend installing Perian on your computer. You may need to try a few different compression settings/bitrates until you find one that gives you a good compromise between quality and performance.

I would suggest turning your quality down on M.E. as well in the preferences to 70%.... or lower:) I was using a macbook pro 13" 2.2, 8 gigs ram, 256 graphics, 10.6.8 I noticed it increase in performance and become less sluggish once I turned tose settings down..... I just switched back to my 15" :) Rockin!!

Before you try that, what dimensions is your output screen? Are you able to achieve decent playback when you don't have an external monitor connected?

mp4's,640\480 and the bitrate is 50,i think..

Are you able to play back even a single video smoothly (using just MixEmergency, and not running Scratch Live)?

finally figured it out,i took the laptop for service and they had to clean the fun and the heat sync now it works smoothly even with the setting pushed to the max.
