Recording question

I did my first mix and afterwards the recording would play back over the speakers switching from the left and right speakers. Which coincided with the times I used the cross fader. I'm assuming it did this because I recorded with L&R setting. How do I resolve this issue? Do I need to recording in mono? If so, what settings do I need to change and where?

It sounds as though you might be recording from the incorrect channels of your audio device.... maybe. What are you recording the audio with? And how is it connected to your computer?

I'm recording from channels 1 & 3 on my rage 61 mixer which is left and right. Everything is connected via usb. I have the sl3 and rane 61 connected to the computer.

I'm guessing that what you're doing is recording the left mixer channel into the left audio channel, and the right mixer channel into the right audio channel.... How many channels are listed in the Audio Device setup for MixEmergency? I'm guessing that some pair of channels (e.g. 5 & 6) would be streaming the combined (i.e. mixed) audio output.

I think I have 6 listed as options. I was going to recable it to use channel 1&2. What do you recommend? I didn't think it matter if I used 1 & 3 .....

I would guess that it's either 1 & 2, 3 & 4, or 5 & 6. You could quickly try each variation (mixing back and forth) to find the correct channels.

Switching channels did not work. However, I figured it out, I just exported the recording in mono instead of stereo. Cheers

to record using the 61 or 62 via usb, make sure that in the sixty-one audio control panel that USB-6 Record is set to 'Main Mix' which is the default. next in the ME record window choose channel 11 and channel 12 under advanced. 11/12 is main mix/mic (selectable via sixty-one audio control panel). PGM 1 is 1/2 and PGM 2 is 3/4
