Recording Issue on one channel

So I just got finished recording my first video mix for about 45 mins and then I exported to quicktime. Everything was perfect. Then I go an listen to my work to find out that it did not record the sound of one of my channels when I crossed over. What setting do I need to check in order to make sure it is recording the audio from both channels? I'm assuming my audio is already lost in the mp4 recording so I have to chalk that one up. lol

It sounds as though you've connected the wrong output from your mixer to your laptop. Either that, or you've only got one channel routed to that output.

I actually only had the usb from the mixer connected to the computer. Am I missing something? When I went to record, ME recognized the mixer as an input.....

Oh, ok. What inputs from the mixer do you see? Or is there just one?

I only saw one. The pull down menu from ME allows me to select my mixer....

Below that (where it has the channel selection pop-up menus), how manu channels does the device have?

what mixer are you using? unless it allows simultaneous DVS audio/usb audio in/out you won't be able to record via USB while the DVS is running. You should be running a RCA-to-1/8" in cable to your line-in of your macbook.

I'm using the new rane 61. I got it plugged into a sl3 box. @nick I will check and get back with you

Ok you helped me figure it out. I checked the channel settings and it was on 1 & 2. But my mixer is using 1 & 3 because I just turned both pgm to the left on the rane61 and that happen to be 1 & 3. So I just changed the settings in ME to 1 & 3 and now it works. Thanks again.

Is there any way to not have ME take up so much memory when I'm playing and recording. It seems to slow down my mac and stuff gets sluggish.....

One thing you can do is to reduce the Cache size (in the Advanced panel of MixEmergency's preferences).
