you could use the 62 with an SL box. it's the equivalent of using pioneer djm 800/900 but with more lights and a sucky echo.

you can use the denon mc6000 as a midi mixer and hook up decks. it got a sh*tload of mappable buttons.

It there a way to turn off the firmware or disable it, making the 62 in a sense just a mixer with sl built in? That way it wouldn't be able to recognize what version of SSL it was using thus making it compatible with ME?

Or find out where it stores the firmware perhaps on a removable chip or a plugged in storage device and unplug it

no. SL uses a proprietary driver when the 62 is set to usb a or usb b. if you were able to figure out a hack that broke that connection, SL would not be able to see the 62 and you wouldn't be able to use SL. i have the 62, TTM 57 and a Rane SL2. The 62 is dope mixer, but i think the TTM 57 or Pioneer w/SL2 is a better option. The only place where i see the need for a 62 is when you need the 2 usb for DJ Switching, you don't have dicers and you want sample/cue control and you need a MIDI mixer. If you don't need any of that stick with your current mixer.
