Split window causes MixEmergency control panel to disappear

Hi Nick, Version 2.0 works great for me but last night when I started it up ME opened up fine but the control panel had disappeared on the split window view. cmd 1 would not bring back the panel and clicking window then ME would also not work. In the end I had to go back to the single window preview to bring back the panel, any ideas Stephen

That's odd. Have you tried hiding/showing it from the Window menu (I'm just checking that the keyboard shortcuts haven't been disabled). If you're still unable to find it, try deleting this file (where ~ is your user folder): ~/Library/Preferences/com.inklen.MixEmergency.plist This will reset all of your preferences for MixEmergency (including window positions).

Hi Nick, just started it again and it has reappeared, will keep an eye on it as it definitely was not playing on Saturday night :-)

Happened again last night! This is what I do, I play house music for the first hour without switching on ME or plugging in the TV card. Then when I'm ready to go I plug in the TV card then switch on ME and again the control panel was missing and again cmd1 or the window tab will not bring it back. Continued to VJ with the single window preview with no problems at all. Got home later turned on ME without Serato turned on and the TV in & the control window reappeared. Strange goings on m8, am I the only one?

I'll have a look into this when I'm back at work. I suspect it might have something to do with your TV convertor. I've heard of certain models that will initially resize your main window before resizing it back to the correct size - and because of this, windows will move around.

Cheers Nick, not panicking about it but for your info it worked fine tonight with the split windows, don't think I'm doing anything wrong. Bet it's something really simple

Cool - thanks for the update. The next time it happens, can you please make a copy the following file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.inklen.MixEmergency.plist and then e-mail it to me?

Any news on a fix for this problem Nick. It only seems to happen on the monitor I connect to at my Saturday gig thanks in advance

No news yet. It'll require a few changes that need to be tested a little more thoroughly before it gets released.
