Mapping the load

I am using cdj 2000 with serato dvs control. I have my mixer mapped for the cross and up faders. When I load my music, I select my file from the cdj. How do I tie this in with video I select for ME so its loads and it corresponds to the audio as well as the video? What is the part that I map to control the loading of the song for ME?

I'm not sure I understand you correctly. If you're loading a video file into Scratch Live, then it will automatically be loaded into MixEmergency.

Yes that's correct. When I'm loading my video file in serato 2.3.3 it is not automatically loading into ME. The audio is loading in SL. The only way I get it to load is when I manually drag the video into ME. Then it plays in ME without audio. I must be doing something wrong, setting wise....... What do you think?

Check the top-right corner of MixEmergency's main window. Does it read "Scratch Live", or "MixEmergency". If it reads "MixEmergency", click it and change it to "Scratch Live". Once it reads "Scratch Live", check to see that the indicator (the coloured dot to the right of it) isn't red.

Oh, ok I will try it when I get home. But I was running it in "mixEmergency". I'm sure that's it. I will let you know. Thanks for your support. When I change it to "Scratch Live", what does it mean if the dot is red? What next? Thanks again

When it's in "Scratch Live" control mode, then the red dot indicates whether it can be controlled by Scratch Live. It will be red if Scratch Live isn't open. Any other colour indicates that it is being controlled by Scratch Live.

Ok, I got it working correctly except for one little issue left. You can let me know if I have to open another thread. So I have my mixer cross fade mapped with ME crossfader, great. However when I use my cdj2000 knob to select the next video file on the deck I'm cueing, the crossfader will automatically move to that deck. What setting to I need to change so that the ME crossfader is only controlled by my mixer only?

It sounds as though you have a conflict with your MIDI mapping. Are you able to change the channel that your mixer sends its MIDI signal? Alternatively, you could disable input from your CDJ2000 into MixEmergency using the MIDI Input device selector at the top of the MIDI window.

Yes I can control the channel that my mixer sends its midi signal. I agree there is a conflict. Because both control it. Where do I disable this input exactly? I'm using HID mode from the cdj2000, not sure if I can disable midi if I want to use that mode.......... But I agree, I'm looking for a way to disable the midi from the cdj2000 to ME......

Check the image on this page below the heading "MIDI Window": http://www.inklen.com/mixemergency/manual/midi There is a drop-down menu with the text "Select MIDI Inputs". From this you should be able to disable the CDJ MIDI (it'll need to be plugged in when you do this).
