Midi map effect preset for current bank

I am trying to set up my lpd8 so that pad 1 will turn on effect 1 of the current bank selected. by default mapping pad 1 to effect preset 1/bank 1 will only turn on effect preset 1/bank 1 even if i am in another bank. if i use the advance mapping window and map pad 1 to the B2 P1 button, the effect turns on in the next bank, not the current bank. ex. if i am in bank 1 and hit pad 1, effect 1/bank 2 turns on. is there anyway to do what i want?

That's odd - it should be working the way you expect it to.... so, by mapping the control to the "1", "2", etc buttons, they will simply trigger that effect from the currently selected bank.

nick i'm using that latest version. when i map to the B2 P1-12 button they trigger as follows: Selected Bank - Effect Preset Bank Triggered 1 - 2 2 - 3 3 - 4 4 - 5 6 - 1 here's a quick little video showing what i'm talking about

Yep - that's exactly how it's supposed to work. Those "B2 ..." and "B3 ..." buttons are for triggering the "next bank" (in the case of B2) and the "next next bank" (in the case of B3). You want to be mapping the buttons pointed to by number 2 (buttons titled 1 - 12) on the image of the Presets window here: http://www.inklen.com/mixemergency/manual/presetswindow/

when i map the presets buttons 1-12 they always trigger the presets of the bank that was selected when i midi mapped them. so if i am in bank 2 and midi map buttons 1-12 when i switch to bank 3 the presets in bank 2 are triggered. it's as if the midi mapping is associated with the button and the current bank. i would like to midi map presets 1-8 and trigger them for the bank that i am currently in.

It shouldn't do that. It should map them for the current bank. So, when you switch to bank 4, then it will trigger bank 4's presets, etc. I'll have to try this out tomorrow morning to verify that this is working correctly for me.

I've just tested this, and I'm not seeing the same problem that you're having. I'm guessing that some other MIDI mapping might be causing a conflict.

i have found another error that is similar so i thought i should just re-visit this post rather than posting a new one. if i midi map a knob to the preset bank controls, the knob only works when you are in the effects preset tab. when i switch to Transitions, Text Overlay or Image Overlay, the knob that i set to the preset bank does not respond even though the preset bank controls are green and show the correct CC control # for all 4 preset tabs (the knob still changes the preset bank of the Effects tab though). Also, the Quartz Overlay tab is different. the other tabs seem to share the same preset bank control and all turn green when mapped to a knob. the qc tab is independent of the rest and i can map a diferent (or the same knob) and it works as expected.
