Midi Mapping Effects

Hi Nick, I'm trying to set up a TouchOSC template on my iPad to be able to choose the effects. I'm finding that having to use a slider to choose which channel to apply the effect to to be a bit confusing. It is possible to map it so that every time I hit 'C1' for instance it will always apply 'Invert' effect to Channel A? * Also, not sure if I missed something while varying from Serato, but can I apply a Luma Key just as a channel effect (as opposed to a transition)

It's possible (using OSCulator at least) to map a button on TouchOSC to a particular position on the slider (so you can push a button to set it to "A", and another to set it to "B", etc). You need to utilise the seconardy page on OSCulator thought (I forget what it's called, but there's a button to switch to it at the top-right corner of the mapping window). I'm not certain if it's possible to do what you want to do with a single button though. Regarding the Luma Key: no you can't use it as a channel effect, only as a transition. I would need to slightly change how the rendering pipeline worked to get something like this working.

Thank Nick, I'd definitely recommend adding Luma Key as a channel effect. I've been able to get really interesting results in Serato Video with it by dropping the background on acapella tracks. (one of my most commonly used effects in Serato) Also, green screens are becoming very cheap and easy to setup... I'll have a play with creating 'A' and 'B' buttons in touch OSC.

Mrnice If you set your your video on , lets say left table, and you can load up lumakey, and set your switch to A, then save that as a "LEFT LUMA" say to C1, then set the right channel to "B" and save that as "RIGHT LUMA" Then you can midi map two buttons one for each channel so when pressed, it will do lumakey on that channel basically it will just enable that preset

I'm note sure I follow... what to you mean by set the 'switch'? I can only get Luma key as a 'transition' but am clearly missing something..
