geetrax Hi, I have recently purchased ME and need to buy a MAC. I was looking at the 13" Mac pro. Will this do the job or do I need to get a 15" with AMD Radeon graphics processor? Will I be able to use my DJM400 with ME or do i have to buy another mixer?
codee You dont need anything. But if you want to be a good (and im not trying to be fascist) VDJ you must buy a 15 or 17 inch MBP. Yes you need the dedicated video card. Its is an absolute MUST!!!!!!! IF you can get the 17 i would buy the more expensive 15 inch to get the best video card possible. Your DJM 400 also has no MIDI. So you dont need another mixer. But if you want your video mixing to line up with audio you will want a mixer with MIDI. IF you dont want to buy a mixer right away. get some other midi controller to control all of the ME efx and video fading. It will take more work to mix video and audio separately but it can be done. Nick Yep - if I were to buy a MacBook Pro for Video DJing, then I would definitely go for one with a dedicated video card (i.e. the 15" or 17" models).

djnyce don't forget ebay and craigslist. i got my first, second and third macbook pro's from ebay and/or craigslist for a steal. 2 out of 3 still were eligible for applecare.
