Heres the problem im having ... i work in several clubs and i'm serious about stepping up to vj-ing proffessionaly, but ! all the venue's i'm working in only have analogue inputs for video sources. I bought an Acer laptop last week and was extremely happy with its performance, but it only had Digital output (hdmi) aswell vga, after buying several leads/adaptors i then found out you can not convert a digital output to analogue via hdmi or vga, rendering my laptop that i bought especially for video dj-ing USELESS ! So i returned my laptop hoping to trade/upgrade it to one with s-video out ... Guess what - almost all new laptops do not have s-video out, They have been phased out by hdmi. 2 out of 30 laptops in pc world had s-video out and they were well under the spec i'd require for Sl2 and Video SL. So i then start looking online for a good powerful laptop with s-video out... to get a good spec machine with s-video id be looking at spending over £1,000.... So why not buy a mac ??? Then i can use ME ... Great .. So i call apple u.k and tell them specifically what i want my machine to do ... to plug in to an analogue video device ... They say the ONLY mac laptop is the mac white (older model only), or the macbook air (older model only). So i call apple uk again and find out (after going to the store and almost buying a mac white) that almost all of the converters you see on the official mac store pages, only work with older models (with dvi port) - mini dvi is not supported !! So now what ? I want to buy a mac pro, but how will this connect to an analogue device ( i only need for video only, not audio. I;m sure there are some 3rd party converters out there, i have looked and read some reviews, all seem to be 50/50 as to weather that work or not and have good quality results. Surely many of the people on this forum have found the answer already ? Please Please Please help
