Serato Video Support

just saw the announcement for Serato Video. My first thought was cool, an update after 5 years. My second thought was i hope ME still continues to work with either Serato Video or future SSL updates. so Nick, are we good?

I dont think nick will comment. I have been trying to get a comment out of him for a while about new ME updates. I just keep getting told to hold on. The new serato video is not out till march, and i think serato 2.4 comes out about the same time. so we just have to wait and see. Though i really hope to see a ME update before then.

So a rep over at serato has just confirmed that the Rane 62 and SSL 2.4 will not work with ME or any other 3rd party plugins. Nick if that is the case how do you expect SSL users to fork over an upgrade fee for 2.1 if ME no longer works with SSL?

Sweet Im so excited about ME 2.0 I just won't upgrade to the latest SSL, Hell, All of there upgrades have been crap anyways since 1.9.2 I will just keep using my TTM57/SSL,ME I was going to order a new 62 but not now..

Unfortunately this comes as a bit of a surprise - previously we have been in talks, and had at least agreed that if this (to end support for MixEmergency) was the case then we would work out how and when to deliver this message in a co-ordinated fashion (so that we could be prepared, and be clear as to not confuse our users). I'll let you know when I know more - but the general message from Serato seems to be clear that there will be no compatibility with MixEmergency in Scratch Live 2.4.

Nick i dont want to see all your hard work goto waste. hopefully serato will buy ME off of you and integrate it into serato video ASAP. If that's what you want. it could be Serato video powered by ME. I just dont want to loose support for such a great product.

They did it once, I'm sure Inklen can do it again. Might take a little longer than expected but I'm sure Inklen can make it work.

Doesnt seem like they gave Nick a heads up. from reading the thread, ME has alot of loyal customers, willing to ditch the 2.4 upgrade and the new 62. I know i'm one of em... hell ME is a great tool that has put more money in my pocket.

Ok... i just read that entire Serato thread, and it seems that the non support of ME in SL 2.4 is more than likely unintentional due to the re work of the new Serato Video... with that being said: Nick, are you gonna be able to work somethin out with serato to be able to get future support for ME? The 62 seems like a great mixer but not so great as to give up my ME for Serato Video (which doesnt seem to be any different than VSL).

Thanks nick for being so responsive to us. I just really hope all of this isn't taking away from ME 2.0 and delaying its release :)

Yup. Rane lost another 62 sale here. 192 and 200 work fine for me.

@ Nick I'm not sure where this is going BUT I want you to know I WANT AND WILL continue to use ME. If serato should shut ME down please keep me in mind as an underground user, I am also able to attend most if not all of the DJ related conventions and Expos on the East Coat if you need someone to REP the product in what ever form THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR WORK AND AN AWESOME PRODUCT!
