Sync low quality videos with high quality mp3s or wav

Can i Sync low/med quality videos with high quality mp3s or wav within the programme ? or would i need a programme such as windows movie maker to do this ?

Currently (as of MixEmergency 1.2) if the mp3 audio is out of sync with the video then you will need to edit the video to match the audio (you should be able to do this with iMovie, though I would recommend using a more professional video editing application). There are several ways that you could do this - just make sure that if you're wanting to put the audio file into the video file container that you don't re-encode the audio (and introduce another generation of audio degradation).

Ah ok, that answered my question ,but i actually meant that if i had a low quality video could i dub a high quality mp3 on top of it. Will look at some mac video software when i make the BIG change from pc to mac :-)

Ah, okay. If you have QuickTime Pro, and depending on the file format you're using (i.e. it won't work if the audio and video data is interleaved), you could very easily swap out the audio. Using QuickTIme you can delete the old audio track, and then you should be able to copy and paste the new audio track into the QuickTime file.

I;m Back ;-) - iv been using vsl as i and been struggling to get to grips with output's from a modern pc to s-video or rca.... trust me it is a mission ! Anyway - i am going to be converting to mac (yes it had to be done) so i'm defiantly gonna be checking out ME ... a couple of questions/suggestions.... Still on the sync issue, vsl can add cue points to videos and mp3s, is it possible to load a video to a cue point, then load an mp3 to its cue point then start them together, Thus playing an average quality video with a full quality mp3. Also i think it would be handy to have a "jump between cue points" especially music video's that have pauses in the video's with talking or some other stuff going on, or a big breakdown in a song ... to ignore the bit between 2 cue points. This feature would probably need to be configured by scratch live, but i think it would be a very handy tool, don't you just hate those music videos !!!

That's good to hear. I imagine you will have a lot fewer issues VJing on an Apple Mac computer. Currently (as of MixEmergency 1.2) it is not possible to load a video to a cue point and then load an audio file to a cue point and have them sync together. And yes, the jump between cue points feature would be something that would need to be implemented within Scratch Live.
