Nick Did it crash while recording the mix, or while exporting it? It is most likely crashing on a particular file. Can you please archive e-mail ( to support at inklen dot com ) me the folloing file: ~/Movies/MixEmergency/MixEmergency.log and any files starting with MixEmergency in this folder: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/
stevedub Also what I notice is when I save (as quicktime) it looks like it's passing more than 2 times, not sure how many times because I went to bed but I know it at least went a third time because I waited for the first two passes and it still kept going, then when I woke up it said that ME had crashed.
stevedub OK, so I did a new mix last night, got done about 7pm and saved it with the Quicktime settings you recommended in the other thread. It's 7:30am now the next day and it's STILL going. I have a feeling when I get home from work it's going to either still be going or crashed. My mix was only an hour long.................
Nick It looks like it's definitely stalling on one of your files (it should not take anywhere near this long). If it continues (and finishes) - then there is no way that I can identify the particular file from the logs. Have you encoded all of your files, or are they from different sources? I would be interested in knowing what file container/compression codecs you have used for your videos.
stevedub I get my vids from several sources. I'll let you know what happened when I get home but I'm almost sure it with either still be going or crashed lol. I'm also curious to know what files it's crashing on so that I can prevent this in the future.
Nick Actually - I was wrong - we can find out which file it might have been from the MixEmergency.log file because there is a timestamp associated with the loading of every movie.
stevedub Well just got home and it's STILL GOING! Should I cancel? My computer is pretty hot, I don't wanna ruin it.
stevedub The weird thing is that it gets through the whole mix but instead of saving it starts over again.
Nick You should cancel it. Send me the MixEmergency.log file in your ~/Movies/MixEmerency/ folder and I'll have a look for the problem.
stevedub What the heck. Ok since the bar was almost full I figured I'd wait one more time and it FINALLY saved. I wonder why it took that long...... do you still want me to send the log file?
Nick Yeah, I'd still like to see what might have been causing the problem. You can just archive and e-mail it to me.
djcfc2k07 Nick, I tried emailing but I guess you guys are extremely busy over there. I have the same problem as above. I would love to send you my log information, but I don't know where you are looking to find this information. I checked my movie folder and i don't see those options as a drop down. My mix Emergency seems to work flawlessly until I try to export the video. I even sent the trial video that I recorded as well. Please advise...... My email is [e-mail removed]
Nick Hey - sorry for the delay, I've been out of the office over Christmas, and won't be around too much until the New Year. I'm about to look over your e-mail in more details soon, and will get back to you with more questions.
