Recording my mix

so im about to record my 1st video mix and im sad to discover that ME only gives me to audio recording options, Mic in and Line in. Is it possible to add the option to record from one of serato inputs, I have an SL4 and would like to record the audio from my aux input?

Never mind... As i wrote that i got an Idea. i plugged in both usb's for my SL4 restarted all the programs and ME found the 2nd instance of the SL4 and wam bam, thank you mam. its working just fine :)

Another question. I use a Xone 92 mixer, and i dont DJ with the crossfader. when i play out live, i have a 2nd person do all my video mixing on a small midi mixer(m-audio xsessionpro). I want to record a short mix, and i have been doing that but my hands are too busy with the audio mixer. I would like todo video efx also durning the mix, but i dont want to second person to have to be there with my well im making my mix, cause it take me hours and several tries till im happy with it. So since ME(too my understanding) records what is happening in ME and not the actual video (thats how it doesn't slow your system down) is there anyway to go in after the fact and do the video mixing after the audio is recorded? Kinda like how i can use the bridge to edit my mix after the fact. No im not recoding the audio in the bridge in my current question.

Yes - in theory this would be possible (and is one of the benefits of doing it the way that I have).... but there isn't any software that'll allow you to do this right now.

Could it maybe be put in a update of ME? I know that would be no small feet, so i would expect it to come in v2.0 (or greater) of ME. Is that something you guys are looking at doing or could be convinced todo? Or would it be easier to make the recoded file readable in some 3rd party Video mixing software? ex. Grand VJ or Modul8?

Yeah - it's not a simple thing to do. For now, what you could do is to export the video twice (there is an option to output just the left channel, or just the right channel), and then edit it in some other video editing software. The only downside is that you won't be able to use the transitions of MixEmergency, but will be limited to those of the video editing software.

could i not load both recordings back into ME and redo the video part of the mix that way, and just leave the audio from one track on the whole time?

Yeah, you could do that. It might take a while to get it right though, depending on how long your mix is.

I have the same problem as Code:e but I use and SL1 could this be the problem??

You can't record from the SL 1 directly into MixEmergency. You would need to run a cable from your mixer's output back into the built-in input of your MacBook Pro.
