So right now i use VSL and im pretty sure im gonna move over to ME cause it looks awesome. And everyone on the serato forum told me too. Im also looking to expand my videos sets to kinda of the next level i guess. So heres my idea, I got my GF doing all my video mixing but i dont like having Video SL open and she likes to change the effects around all the time. I want to put all the ME stuff on its own monitor, so i need essentially 2 monitor's out from my MBP ( i have a 17inch 8,3 MBP with 8gb ram). Also I was thinking of running modul8 or Arkos at the same time so she has even more video EFX and things to play with. I came up with 3 options but i have problems with all of them. Options 1 I buy a Apple thunderbolt display, put all the ME stuff over there, and daisy out to my adaptor (and scalier box) to get RCA out for the video system at the club. problem one, that may not work, apple says you cant chain in a displayport display so i dont know if that means i cant put my thunderbolt to VGA adaptor on the output of the monitor, problem 2 those displays are FN expensive. Option 2. I buy a matrox Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Edition (no i dont want the displayport one cause i will have to buy even more adaptors to make the outputs work with club video systems) I would than use some extra monitor i already have put ME stuff on that one and video will display out to the other output. Problem 1 both extra screens have to be at the same resolution.... Not really that big of a problem, I just need a widscreen display for the second monitor so the aspect ratio stays the same on the other screens. Problem 2. the mac sees both displays as 1, But i want video to be full screen on the 3 screen (or video output). How can i do that, I dont think i can just hit the full screen button cause it will full scree ove both monitors right? any options? can ME's output window be expanded in size to just use the whole 3rd screen? (this is my preferred option) Option 3. Can I used syphon to send Video via a network connection to a second MBP? this would be the most expensive but most ideal option i think. Then she can do all the video mixing and efx in Modul8 or Arkos. I dont think my MBP will run another video program well i DJ because I also run the serato ableton Bridge at the same time and i just think it will be too much for one computer. Also i dont really care about HD quality i think its over rated for any club video system i have ever seen, most clubs in my area cheap out and only have composite running to there tv's and projectors. Any advice on what i can do?
