Will my mixer midi work through serato and control ME?

I have a behringer ddm4000 mixer and love it my question is. If i map the cross fader through the serato sl1 will this work or do I have to purchase a midi interface? My only concern is the lack of USB ports i have a firewire drive with my videos and a USB drive with all my music on and the other USB is for the sl1 box i hate using the hub cause i know how much slower serato could potentially act with more than 2 items in the usb ports. I am using a Mac Book with 3gigs ram. I have downloaded the demo version and like it a lot but also have a question on the video output on the demo the output doesn't work i tried it out and had to go into full screen to view the video. Is this corrected with the purchased version of ME. I think this is a great program. Keep up the great work .

It is not possible to control both MixEmergency and your audio with the Behringer DDM 4000 mixer. This is because (for some strange reason) the crossfader of the mixer can only be assigned to either MIDI or audio - not both at the same time. Because of this, you would need an additional MIDI controller to control MixEmergency. You can pick up relatively cheap and portable ones (such as the Korg nanoKONTROL) that will do the job well. What graphics card do you have in your MacBook? The video output should work in both full-screen and windowed mode. Is this reproduceable (i.e. does it happen every time you run it?) This is the first report I've heard of such a problem - so, if it is a problem with MixEmergency, then I would like to get it fixed. The purchased version of MixEmergency will disable the "demo" watermark over the output and also enables the recording and exporting feature so that you can record and export your video mixes. When you purchase MixEmergency you will also have free software updates until at least MixEmergency version 2. Version 1.2 shouldn't be too far away now. As far as visuals go: we are planning to add a few more visualisations in a future release (though this will obviously be free to download, as you'll download them with the demo).

Thank you for the info on the midi subject very helpful as far as the video is concerned I only have the demo version right now so is the video output turned off in demo mode or is there some other configuration i have to do. i think my video card is an intel gma950 and now that i looked at it it says only vram 64 mb shared system memory and i realize i need at least 128 mb vram i believe so that could be the problem. I'm not sure but will look into that and let you know how i make out. But like i said it works fine and when i connect the video output i only get a mirror image of my computer screen on my plasma that was what my question was regarding. If there is a different option i had to do for the video output without having to put the main output in fullscreen.

No, the video output is not turned off on the demo version. You should be able to see the output in the output window (you can use the shortcut "apple-2" to show/hide this window), but it will have the MixEmergency logo/demo watermark over it. The output will also go into fullscreen mode if you're using MixEmergency 1.1 (bug also watermarked in the demo). I would not recommend using MixEmergency with the MacBook/Graphics card you have - it is well below the minimum specs (which may be the reason you're not seeing the output in the output window). Regarding the mirror image of your computer screen: if you go into the Displays tab of your System Preferences there should be an option enabled titles "Mirror Displays". If you disable this you should be able to use your external screen as an extended desktop.
