Link with Serato DlJ FX

Can't seem find an answer to this question anywhere.... I'm THAT close to buying ME, as it is clearly superior to VSL in every way except that it doesn't seem to be able to correspond to the DJ FX in the way that VSL can. To clarify, if I enable audio effects in the VSL setup panel, anytime I use an effect such as echo out, then the video echoes out along with the audio. But ME doesn't seem to have this ability. I'd imagine it's not an easy thing to integrate, but perhaps I'm missing something. Does it already do it? Will we ever see it in future? I know a few guys who are holding out on ME for this very same reason and I have to say, it's kind of a deal-breaker for me too.

MixEmergency does not have this feature. At this point in time we are simply not able to add this.

I see. Sigh. It's so often the way with software. One app does some of what you want, another does the rest, but nothing ever seems to do it all. Found myself in this position time and time again. I'm sure you'd have included this ability if you could, so it's no slight on you, but I won't deny I'm deeply disappointed. How about ME eventually having its own range of DJ FX? Is THAT more likely? Would you be able to synchronise it with the video then?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by ME having it's own DJ FX.... do you mean processing the audio? This wouldn't be possible. I have though about some sort of system that reacts to effects, but it would need to be set up in a way that is compatible with a lot of different mixers and systems.

"do you mean processing the audio? This wouldn't be possible." Yeah, I realised that after I wrote it. More a case of thinking out loud...probably out of desperation - lol. Seriously though, thanks for the responses. I am a bit gutted, but ME is still a great program, so I'm sure I'll survive. And yeah, I can totally see why you'd want to make it compatible with other hard/software, which can't be easy, especially when having to prioritise other things. In all honesty though, I'd sorta hoped I'd found THE program and not just for me, but for my students and clients too. In almost every other aspect, I'd recommend ME over VSL everytime, but like I say, those audio/video fx are a killer selling point, and the thing is, it's not even like it's just a case of paying for both licenses....even if you have both, you're still going to have to choose one or the other. Which leaves me, and probably many others, to continue either hoping ME can eventually do thi, or that VSL can eventually do what ME does, or that a third party comes along with a product that does what they both do..and maybe a bit more. That being the case, if you could make ME compatible with Traktor and other software, you'd be the obvious choice for all concerned, but if someone else does it, I can see there being three leading products on the market, rather than the two current ones. I know VDJ can do video too, and MixxVibes were saying back in May that they hope to be releasing some sort of video element later in the year..I'm not really aware of any other DVS systems that are even worth mentioning, so it still comes down to ME, VSL or whatever NI/third party come up with. One interesting fact though, a google search for 'VJ software' lists just about everything other than Mix Emergency or VSL, or any of the DVS systems. I know they're all unlike traditonal 'VJ' software, but if I were the owner, I'd want to be showing up under those search terms too, just saying. Thanks again for the response.
