akiem The main reason that I have not switched to ME is that I have been heavily using QTZ in SL for songs without video. The QTZ I have composed require data points especially the pitched usb which is not available in ME. Im wondering if some of the other data points could/would be available? In particular I would like the pitched BPM data. Further I think that what is really missing from QTZ for DJing is being able to get a really tight 'sync' from the audio. If there were any way to get the 'grid data' that would be excelente. What I have done with SL is use a midi controller to trigger the first cue and a 'start point' in the qtz simultaneously to give me a tight 'sync' (except I cant use the 57 cue) Anything that could be done would be welcome. I really feel that QTZ has way more potential then whats being done and that absence of easily being able to sync is whats holding it back.
Nick Yeah - it should be easy for us to hand through the BPM data. I think we would simply send through the raw BPM, and then if you wanted to pitch it you could mulitiply it by the current velocity (which also gets sent through).
akiem Thats good news to me! I think SSL does the velocity calculation because there are the two data points: kSSV_SeratoDataSongBPM kSSV_SeratoDataSongPitchedBPM I suppose accessing the 'cue' positions would not be easy? Or the 'grid data'?
Nick Yeah - the cue positions and grid data aren't quite as easily accessed (we would have to parse this information from the files - so it wouldn't support on-the-fly changing of thse).
akiem How about reading some more tags? Like the Comment tag, the Genre tag or Key tag. QTZ could then do different things bassed on whats in those tags.
seriouscyrus I'd really like to see the needle position as well as the play position. And another one for getting the cue point timings. Would also like to get a hold of the waveform too. The path to the media as well.
