Desktop showing behind my video

Good Day , i am a brand new user for Mix emergency and a mac user also, Friday nite as i was loading my vids everything was going fine till i realize (30 mins later) i looked back at on of the LCd screens i noticed i can see my desktop overlaying my videos? so i restarted ME again and still was having the same problems. and another issuse my videos did not look clear ? so i exited from ME and used VSL. my videos look clear and no desktop overlaying on my vidz any suggestions? thanks...

Can you check to see if you are you using one of the "Background" transitions?

i dont think to my knowledge i am using background transitions can you guide me to the right location to where i can find this ? thank you

Ok - go into the Preferences, then into the Plug-ins section. There is a "Transitions" box which allows you to set which plug-ins you have in your Transition list. Scroll through these and make sure the following transitions are disabled: Background Background Left Background Right
