Audio Skips/Video Off

I have been using ME for a couple months now and love it to make opening video sets before my gigs. I made about 20 early mixes with ME without a problem. Then all of a sudden on the last few I have noticed pretty bad skips in the audio when I hear the final product. These skips in audio throw off the rest of the video mix so vocals no longer match up. As I am mixing the audio live I do not hear any skips, it only in the final recording. Nothing has changed much on my first 20mixes to now on my Macbook Pro 2.4GHz 4GB RAM so I have no idea why this is happening. Thanks.

That's odd. The most common cause of this is that Scratch Live has experienced an audio drop-out (you might have noticed the drop-out indicator light up while you were performing). There is nothing that we can do about this, and all that you can really do is re-align and patch the audio in a video editing application. You could try increasing the size of the USB buffer in the Scratch Live setup screen in an attempt to stop any further drop-outs.

No I'm relatively sure its not a USB dropout. I pay close attention to that stuff and like I said I never heard a single skip or disruption in the audio while I'm mixing. I know what dropouts are like in Serato because I used to have them a lot when I still DJ'ed with a PC back in 2006. Plus I don't get why I would be able to make so many mixes without audio skips and throwing the video off initially. Now I can't seem to get 1 mix where I don't have a bad recording. A friend suggested moving the vids from my external (which I was using via firewire 800) to my internal hard drive before making a mix. Do you think that could help?

Moving the vids may help.... Can you e-mail me your MixEmergency.log file so that I can see if there were any errors reported during recording? You can find the log file at ~/Movies/MixEmergency/MixEmergency.log
