Just purchased mix emergency the other day and I like it so far. It has its ups and downs due to my 57 being able to control effects in VSL. Might have to get a midi. But I like the random trans and record features. I have a few questions with it though. I read the forum pretty thoroughly and don't know if there are any updated answers to some old posts. Live Streaming? In the works? What do I need to do it? I have hd flip on stand plugged into computer. Can I UStream it somehow or do I need a patch of some sort? This is a great idea btw. Want to make it happen. Next, where can I get quartz comps? How do I load them and set to random mp3s, when I switch to mp3 set? And also say I want to load flyers of the bar I'm spinning at and set those to run while I'm doing mp3s, how do i do that? What would you do? Actually, what do or would you do. personally, if you were doing video, and switched to mp3s? And lastly, what are presets? Thanks for your help -Chris

Hi Chris.... that's quite a few questions you have there. Re: Live Streaming. You can use a service such as ustream or livestream. I know that ustream has a producer application that you can run on your computer. Re: Quartz Compositions. There are a bunch of Quartz Compositions on the Disk Image (.dmg) that you downloaded to install MixEmergency. This is a good place to start trying them out. To load them simply drag them onto one of the preview windows of MixEmergency. Re: Loading files when an audio file plays. To do this you need to fill the Media Bank in MixEmergency with the items that you wish to display (e.g. Quartz Compositions, flyers, ambient videos, etc) when you load an audio file. Then, in the Advanced section of MixEmergency's preferences, make sure that the pop-up menu beneath "When an unlinked audio file is loaded:" is set to "Load media from Media Bank". Once that is set, every time you load a new audio file it will load a randomly selected item from the Media Bank. Re: Presets. Presets allow you to store and recall the settings of effects, transitions, text overlays, and image overlays. thanks nick As far as the live streaming is concerned, I am referring to dragging a live stream window into vsl or ME. And show a birds eye view of whats happening on the decks, then switch back to videos. How is that possible?

And this is pretty much what i'll be doing once a month. Uploading mixes to vimeo. I am mostly using smashvidz as you can see. The quality kind of got degraded a little bit from the original file to the vimeo mix. What optimal settings should i set to for the most high def picture for these mixes?

For you to do a "birdseye" view, or basically you want to stream other inputs besides the VSL/ME window, you need to run your cameras/ME/Vsl and whatever inputs you have into something like the Roland V4- then you stream on the output of the V4. So, then you can toggle all your different inputs you have using the V4

Settings for optimal export are different depending on what you want (e.g. size, quality, etc). I would recommend you: 1) Turn off frame-blending 2) Set the output size to 640x480 or 640x360 (if you're outputting 16:9 widescreen) 3) Use one of the presets (e.g. Best Quality, Fastest export....)
