Image plugin question

hey nick thanks for making a great product! every image i load in the image plugin showes up right in the middle of the screen and i would like to place my logo at the bottom corner of the screen. Im using the demo as of now. is there a way i can move it or is that not possible?

Currently the image is centered only. If you want to have your logo in the bottom corner of the screen I suggest that you create a transparent image (the same size, or at least aspect ratio, of the screen you will output MixEmergency to) and add your logo into it in the position you would like to have it. This way you could add more than just your logo on the screen (e.g. if you're playing at a club you might like to add the club's logo on another corner). We are looking into adding better positional controls to a later release.

thanks for your quick response. i was just wondering if this option was available. how can i make a transparent image that doesn't need a program to open it? everytime i try to save my logo in any format i still have to open it with a program like file viewer or iphoto!!!

i have it saved as a png file so its transparent but when i open it theres all kinds of options and the red yellow and green buttons on top!!! how do i get rid of all that

You could try editing the image with GIMP -> http://www.gimp.org/

There is also a version called GIMPshop ( http://www.gimpshop.com/index.shtml ), if you're familiar with Photoshop.

ok do u know how i would save it or what program to use to open it so only the image opens and no browser stuff opens

You can open it with GIMP, edit it, and then save it as a transparent PNG file.

its already a transparent png file when i open the file on my mbp it opens in preview. it is a transparent image but the application isn't. you can see all the edit options and the header bar and the color of the background of the app! what program do you use that will "only open up a png file" and nothing else in the background? thanks for your help btw!

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to do now, but if I understand you correctly you want to open the file, but have it show up on the screen (and over your normal windows) transparent (i.e. have no application window/titlebar/etc), is that correct? If so, I don't know of any program. I was suggesting importing it into GIMP, editing/positioning it within a larger transparent image (in GIMP), saving it from GIMP to another PNG file, then using it in MixEmergency.

perfect worked like a charm! vdj has a really nice plug you might wanna take a look at. its called 'showlogo' and you can scale, position, colorize, fade, and you can do multiple logos at once! thanks againg for all your help nick
