MIDI map video source

Is it possible to midi map a video source? I currently have 2 video sources (for 2 different angles) that I would like to apply effects to in ME then send the NDI or Syphon output to OBS for live-streaming. I’m looking for an easy way to toggle between the 2 video sources/angles. I think the answer is NO but I’d like to confirm if I can MIDI map the video sources. Thanks.

I assume that you mean for the Video Input section of MixEmergency's Overlays, is that correct? If so, what you could do is to set up both sources and then save them each as a Preset (using the Video Input tab of MixEmergency's Preset window). You can then trigger each of these via MIDI. Follow up question, any tips on how to midi map the video presets on streamdeck using the streamdeck midi plugin? It seems I have to manually enter the midi info. Thanks again.

Nick, one question that you might be able to answer… with ME, is it possible to midi map a fader knob to 2 buttons? 1 to increase the effect and 1 to decrease? The streamdeck only has buttons so I’m trying to see if can work. So it’s like mapping a fader knob to 2 keys on a keyboard. Is this possible? Thanks.

It has been a long time since I've used the more advanced fuctions of this, but I believe that for faders/knobs there are both increment/decrement control options for MIDI buttons, as well as a mode that allows you to increment/decrement the control value while a MIDI button is held down.

I couldn’t figure it out so I just took out my Yamaha MO8 and used the knobs. Overkill but it works ?

@Nick regarding setting video sources as presets that can be triggered via midi, can the same thing be done for NDI sources? I’d like to trigger a particular NDI camera via midi. Thanks.

NDI presets haven't been added yet, but you could create and NDI source in the Media Bank (right/control-click the Media Bank preview to access options), and then load this via MIDI.

When I right click a slot on the media bank, then choose NDI and select the NDI camera, I get a prompt to Save. It doesn’t look like it’s doing the right thing.

Yeah, you have to save the source as a MixEmergency NDI source file so that the Media Bank has something to load. Once you've done this then you can click on it (or trigger it via MIDI mapping) to load to one of MixEmergency's channels.

Is there anyway to load a media clip with MIDI? At the moment I can only load to the non-playing output and have to do a drag and drop to override the current output. It would be nice to do a change current video with a single press on a MIDI controller.

Currently this isn't possible - you can only load video to the non-live channel.
