Optimal macbook setting

Hi Could someone tell me how to fine tune ME, so that I get the best possible video output? I notice when using VideoSL, it appears clearer for some reason. Also systems memory/cpu are barely pegged. My laptop configurations are as follows. MBP 2.66ghz I7 8GB system memory Nvidia GT330M Thanks in advance!

How do you have your external monitor set up? (e.g. what dimensions, etc) Ideally the best thing to do is to set your output monitor at the same dimensions as your videos (which is most commonly 640x480) and make sure the the MixEmergency Quality slider is set to 100%. This will make MixEmergency process all of its effects and overlays at the same dimensions as your videos.

Hi Nick, Video's are being displayed to multiple 50" plasma's. I dont think you can adjust resolution on them, can you? Quality slider is already set to 100%

sorry, think i know what you mean by "output monitor". that is set in display preferences correct? If so, it is currently set to 800x600. When I try to change too a lower resolution, it wouldnt stick and just default back to 800x600. Maybe i'm not doing something right here. Mind providing some details? thanks again

Do you know what other dimensions the monitors support? When you say it doesn't stick - do you mean that it is unable to switch to 640x480? Or that it automatically switches back to 800x600? If you've got them at 800x600, then you could theoretically set the output quality to 80% - which will set the MixEmergency pipeline to 640x480. I think I need to write a little tutorial about this soon.

And yes, the output monitor settings will be in the Display tab of the System Preferences.
