At this stage we're not creating any of our logo transitions for the general public. We can let you know when they become available though :)

i would say u can design something. like "happy new year!", 3 lines horizontally, with each word on each line basically looking like this HAPPY NEW YEAR!! in a thick font but use that as a basic every year transition. and then maybe a "happy new year 2011" transition effect.. and a "2011" transtion jusat saying: 2011

Nick, is there any way that end users can create their own transitions say using Quartz Composer?

In some ways yes. You can create a Quartz Composition that receives the current left and right images from MixEmergency, as well as the current crossfader position. Using these three inputs you can create a Quartz Composition overlay that acts like a transition. It won't show up in the main transition list (as you have to use it as an overlay), but it will act like a regular transition.
