Sampler Transparency

Hi Nick, I'm trying to overlay a small time-counter in one corner of my output screen. I made a transparent quicktime (with alpha channel) and it overlays clear when loaded to a deck, but when I load it to the Sampler it adds a black background which darkens the overall image. I've used transparent files a lot, but this is the first time I've tried it on the sampler and it doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts? Thanks Tom

I think there's a quartz composition that helps .. I used to run a promo for a bar at the top overlayed with an alpha channel (used to position it at the top of the screen) ... haven't done it in years and may be doing it again for a gig soon. I'll keep you posted if I find the files from back then.

For the sample, open up the little edit/settings window (the button with the pencil icon). Do you have it set to use the Alpha channel here? Which Blend Mode is the sample set to?
