Audio reactive QC with a vector composition

Hi, I'm looking to create a audio reactive speaker image but wanted to isolate certain parts of the speaker, so they each react differently to different sounds. Since I am completely new to QC and MixEmergency, I was wondering the easiest technique for this. Would it be better to upload each part of the speaker individually and rebuild it in QC? What patches would work best for the audio reactive effect? Can I program in the audio patch according to low, high, and mid channels?

Yeah, you can do this. The easiest way would be to create 3 different images (one for low, mid, and high) to be layered over each other using the Billboard patch. You can then receive the audio spectrum information through a published input: http://www.inklen.com/mixemergency/manual/quartzcompositions/ (The AudioSpectrum1 has 8 values ranging from Low to High) and perform some calculations with this to manipulate the 3 images.

Thanks for the information. Just two quick questions.... Where do I locate these patches (I currently have the audio processor & audio input patches) and will they also work with in conjunction with Serato DJ?

The audio processor/input work with an audio input (I think that the default is the microphone on your computer) - I try to stay away from using these patches. For the others, I would recommend that you use something like the Input Splitter patch. You will have to go to the Settings for the patch and make sure that the Type is set correctly (e.g. Number, String, Structure, etc). Then, right-click on the input to this patch, and select "Publish Inputs" -> "Input". You'll then need to type in the name of the input you wish to receive (e.g. "AudioSpectrum1").
