Akai Apc mini not lighting

Does anybody know how to get the Akai APC mini pads to light up. Just got one for use with Mix Emergency. Basically to trigger FX and FX Sequencer presets for now. The mapping to FX bit is straight forward but the pads are not lit making it difficult to see in a dark environment. Is there a way to do this? There is no editor software for the device on the Akai site, I'm guessing they only want it to be used with Ableton. If there is no solution I'm going to return it. Thanks

So I explored a bit further to see what was wrong. Apparently mixemergency doesn't light up another midi controller I had. I tried it with a Kontrol X1 and it didn't light up to indicate anything. Does ME send light out midi? Say I mapped NY preset banks to different pads, the ones with a saved preset should light up and empty ones can stay in a dim color or something. That what's I'm trying to achieve.

In addition, MixEmergency's MIDI output enables you to provide feedback directly to your MIDI controller; so you can light your controller's LEDs and meters." How can I do this? I've got two midi controllers and neither of them lights up.

I have one also and if you haven't noticed, output is only on certain buttons and sliders. Even still I can't get them to shut off or switch colors. I think its gonna boil down to a better job of the midi implementation with ME.

There are no illumination or light on any pads that I mapped with Mix Emergency. I have tried everything including mapping sampler and adding outputs. I noticed the trigger buttons of mixemergency FX presets don't have Output midi option. I mapped it to Serato DJ and it lights up fine. Cue points. I've seen videos of this controller being used with Traktor and other video software. It lights up like a Christmas tree.

I don't think MixEmergency lights up midi controllers. I use LaunchPad mini myself which I've mapped to ME and doesn't light up. Same midi controller mapped to Serato DJ and my cue points, loop rolls, loops, SP etc all light up when triggered. Maybe Nick can shed some light on this. Any future plans to feature this, Nick?

Oh yeah, damn I just returned the controller. Getting the Numark orbit instead. The Apc mini doesn't light up at all, even if it's an orange illumination to see the pads in the dark I don't mind but it's just blank making it difficult to see what pads to hit. I have a Kontrol X1 and it has like an orange light on the pads even if it doesn't go bright yellow to indicate mapped pads at least I can still see the pads. I think I was able to achieve that via the Controller editor. The Apc mini doesn't have one. Mix Emergency is not sending feedback lights to controllers like it's meant to.

There are certain buttons in MixEmergency that don't have an "on/off state". That is, a Preset is only ever triggered, it isn't "on", or "off". Because of this, these buttons can't be used to light your controls. You should be able to use it for buttons such as the FX Sequencer buttons (which do have a specific on and off state).

Which buttons asidds the sequencer sends feedback? I mapped a sampler too and the pads didn't line up to indicate if there is a sample in the slot

All of the buttons for the sequences on the FX Sequencer can send MIDI messages (you need to map the OUT part).
