Performance issues on MixEmergency during show

OK, so I purchased the software, set it up with 1.5gig cache and embeded my logo & used the text feature during a Serato video show last night. I did infact have several issues.... First, here is what I did to set my show up........ 1. Booted SSL. 2. Booted MixEmergency 3. Set up my scrolling text which I wanted to keep scrolling all night long. 4. Set up my embedded image which I wanted to keep embedded all night long. 5. Set up to link to SSL then minimized the program 6. Maximized SSL and started my show and left MixEmergency alone & minimized 7. Did not use any .qtz visuals. 8. Set the MixEmergency viewer to the the output screen and maximized to full screen. 9. Set the crossfader to "switch". After about an hour and a half, the program quit unexpectedly. No reason. Just quit. I had to relaunch. That made me nervous. About another hour into the show, a pop up window came up and said that I was running very low on memory (I have 4gigs of Ram & wasn't running any other applications other than SSL. No bluetooth or WiFi either). I kept MixEmergency on but got rid of the scrolling text. It worked fine after that but indeed it did slow down my video performance. Seemed to take longer loading videos into SSL. "LOW ON MEMORY" ??? I set the cache to 1.5gigs. Shouldn't have been an issue. I made sure there were no other applications using ram resources. I have my SSL cache set fairly low and have never had an issue as a "stand alone" program. any suggestions? I paid a lot of money for a program that I am hoping isn't a waste. I really like having the ability to scroll promotional text and embed logos over the top of my video shows but not at the expense of having my system crash or stall.

Thanks for the detailed report - it makes it much easier for us to diagnose and understand the problems that you are having. The crash that you have experienced is most likely because of a bad file (though it could be a variety or reasons). In the next version of MixEmergency (to be released very soon) we have added better error detection for video files, and a log file that will allow us to diagnose problems of this type more easily. Could you please e-mail us the any crash logs you have for MixEmergency? Our e-mail address can be found here: http://www.inklen.com/contact/ The crash logs can be found in /Users/[your_user_name]/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MixEmergency.crash.log I will look into the crash log as soon as I can and get back to you with any problems that I find. The Low Memory warning means that your system is running low of free memory (i.e. the memory used by the system, all running applications including MixEmergency and Scratch Live has almost used your 4 GB of RAM). What you can do is to lower the amount of RAM used by MixEmergency (e.g. set the Cache size to a smaller value - perhaps 1 GB). Once the level of free memory runs low the performance of MixEmergency will deteriorate - which is what you have experienced here.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will go and get that crash log and email to you. I will set the cache to 1gig and see if that does the trick. Indeed, this is a very good supplement to SSL and I'm very excited to be using it. I do a lot of corporate sponsored club events and to be able to embed their logos during my performance is worth the $$$ paid for this program as long as it works :-) The scrolling text helped to increase bar sales when I was able to place promotional drink specials and leave them running. This will help to secure my repeat bookings :-)

I agree with bigbeat, the text overlay is a great feature, also the image overlay you can put your flyers and promotional stuff as well, pic of patrons esp Bday parties. This is good stuff, once stable it will be even better. Thanks to ME team.
