El Capitan OS X Testing

Tried out the first new public beta of El Capitan yesterday. Mix Emergency 3.0.2 plays videos fine as far as I can see so far EXCEPT for the overlay function. Text, Image, etc are ALL jacked up and need some love. Also, any versions previous to 3.0.2 have messed up video playback. The output screens are cut into 4 different horizontal sections. 3.0.2 is the only version that doesn't do this.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had a chance to install or test this yet. When you say "jacked up" - what exactly is happening? And what laptop are you using?

It's all good. I figured I might be one of the first to jump off a cliff. lol Jacked Up = The images and text are there (saved presets), but they are jumbled together. Instead of a clean image or text, you're getting a scrambled-abstract version. If you delete the preset (or start a clean empty preset) and try to add an image or write text, it doesn't show up at all.

I already reverted back to Yosemite so I wouldn't have the SDJ problems I encountered. But when I go back to El Capitan (probably next release), I'll test again and send a screenshot if needed.

@Nick One of the BIG improvement of El Capitan is Metal http://www.macrumors.com/2015/06/08/apple-announces-metal-for-os-x/ Is MixEmergency going to take advantage of it to have impressives performance improvements ?

For the moment, no. If I do this, the everyone would have to update to Mac OS X 10.11 to use MixEmergency.

Yeah - it is sometimes a hard decision to balance between supporting older OS versions and using the latest technology.

I'm actually waiting on Serato's official announcement of compatibility. There were too many problems during the betas for me to jump on the official El Capitan release

Any update on compatibility of ME3 on Capitan?

MixEmergency 3 should work fine - there are no known issues. Just be sure to check official compatibility with your device and Serato DJ before your upgrade.
