Exported Mix wont load in hand brake??

Exporting my recording resulted in freezing and hanging up. Nick has already solved this issue for me so i went straight into handbrake and re encoded this file and replaced. Worked great then froze again towards the end of the mix on another video. So i re encoded that video and tried again. Finally the mix exported fully and works great except for the audio is off only in the beginning of the mix, after a minute or two it goes back to normal. Its a 17 minute mix. I know Nick is working on a fix for this freezing problem in 1.6 so im not stressed about it. Question is why doesnt my 1.92gb .mov file load in handbrake to convert to a smaller mp4 file?? I clicked source and then it just says invalid file.

What codec or preset did you use to export your mix? I would guess that you used the Apple Intermediate Codec preseet (or perhaps one of the ProRes codec)? These will create problems when importing them into applications, such as Handbrake, that do not use QuickTime to decode video. You could use another application to re-encode to a smaller MP4 file, such as QuickTime 7 Pro, or MPEGStreamclip.

Ok i will try those, im just not familiar with MPEG stream. All though i do have QT Pro. What recommended exporting setting for ME would give me the smallest file size without a large compromise in quality?? Mainly for uploading online for public viewing not dvd use.

QuickTime Pro should be fine. It has export menu options that might be familiar to you from MixEmergency. I would think that the "Medium Quality, Fast encode, 25 FPS" preset would be okay. If you want it small, and only for online, then you also might want to also think about reducing the video's dimensions (maybe to 320 x 240 - which should also make exporting a bit faster, and will give you a much smaller file size).

Thanks Nick, i exported it using qt pro and it came out to 440mb perfect :). Question about the export freezing problem that i have. ME doesnt give any warnings or bad frames or anything on these files. Is it the quality of the video that causing this?? I ask because i would like to know if i should switch video providers.

In general: no, you don't need to switch video providers, the videos that have this problem are fine. It's a problem that only occurs when you scratch/play over the end of a file (it doesn't have to be the one that is displayed at the time when exporting - i.e. it can be on the non-visible channel) - and even then, the problem will only affect you in a few of these cases.
