my mbp specs are: 10.8.5 8 gb ram um....it's the latest 15" mbp with a cd drive and usb 3.0 and fw800 and a line in. it happens when i reach the last few seconds of the track. once counter goes below 3 seconds, it freezes. files are from mixshowtools. funny, i never had probs with them before. usually from my12inch, yeah...but my12inch vids work fine. even files i encoded myself work fine (yay me!) maybe i should try resaving them with mpegstreamclip. i think i've only had one or two from mixshowtools that worked fine. all the rest make it freeze up. smashvid files are fine. i don't think this happened (or i never noticed it) for the short time i used them with 3.0. with 2.7 and older, never an issue.
