I have a 5 hour gig popping and slamming videos for a room in south texas. I run a 2013 Macbook Pro with 8 gigs of ram, the video are on a LaCie Rugged 2tb thunderbolt drive. I don't use any FX. I overlay the Flyboost IG/Twitter Quartz file and run a TEXT crawler throughout the night. A couple of months ago i added the Flyboost Quartz file i noticed during the night i would start to peg red on the system meter on the upper right corner of serato. 80 - 90%. Worst would be skipped frames on the video. Audio always fine. I ran for 5 hours tonight and the system meter was running at 30 - 40%, leaving room for me to run chrome or an app... so plenty of head room. my only problem... I started the session with a folder full of gifs in the media bank bar. This would pull up a random gif when loading an audio only song. When i tried to drag a .jpg from the desktop to overwrite the gif running in the audio track the system... err gui would freeze... the audio would be fine, but i had 15 - 20 sec of no control.
