Trouble with MIDI-mapping output to tabs

Hey guys, I ran into some trouble while trying to MIDI-map output for tabs to light up the LEDs in my MIDI-controller. Here's the scenario: I have buttons A and B in my MIDI-controller which I have mapped to switch between the video deck's transport and FX section tabs (A = decrement, B = increment). I would like button A or B to light up whenever the corresponding tab is activated. Problem is that when I add outputs to aforementioned buttons, they both go on/off at the same time. Any help?

That's because you can think of the tabs are implemented as a range. You can think of them, overall, as being like a slider - but with the ability to incremenber/decrement the slider by a certain amount. Also, I'm not sure how you would expect the buttons to light up. If B = increment, pushing it could go to any of the next banks.

What I was attempting to do is; Button A is pressed --> Transport tab is displayed --> Button A LED lights up (and B shuts off) Button B is pressed --> FX tab is displayed --> Button B LED lights up (and A shuts off) Not that you told me that all tabs work as ranges, it seems rather obvious. For whatever dumb reason I assumed that tab groups with only two tabs worked differently :D
