One button effect load by midi

i would like to load preset effects by pressing one button. if i had a something like a set of dicers or a midi with many keys each key could be set to load an effect. that is great but what i found was that i would have to choose a side to load to from the list of pre-set channels...not a problem with smart keys. the first key could set the effect to load to and choose (A) or the left and another could choose (B) the right. however the problem with that is that the preset channels are scroll. is there any way around this? anyway to make A or B or Mid push button accessible or non-scroll? with something like a dicer it would be great to press the left button and the effect would load left or press a right button and it loads right.

I'm hoping that we'll have some sort of solution for this in MixEmergency 1.6. I can't say much about it right now, but there are quite a few improvements to the way MIDI is handled in 1.6. One potential solution/work-around for this right now (if you're only assigning/triggering the effects during live performance - i.e. you don't want them to save to a video) would be to set the target channel to the "Mid" setting. That way the effect would become loaded to the output no matter which video was playing.

one good thing would be the ability to set one ME button to be controlled by multiple midi knobs/buttons/sliders. the current setup is one ME button to one midi. not sure how mush of a pain that would be to create tho. ME works and that is what i care most about.

One other thing you could do is to use some external MIDI mapping software. I'm not sure which ones in particular work well, but I've heard of this done before. You could then map your MIDI button in the mapping software to a MIDI control change event with the right value to set the A/B/Mid./etc that you want. For example, you might map your MIDI note to a control change of 20% to trigger the B target.

ey nick any chance for some people who will try the beta 1.6? been doin beta testing in vsl before and Serato...but since i used ME want to be a beta tester...

Hey. Sorry, we're not really looking for any more MixEmergency beta testers for 1.6 at this stage. Hopefully 1.6 won't be too far away.

Well I know this feature is possible. I am trying to map buttons on the APC 40 to trigger different Video Effects. How do I do that rather than using the knobs?

You need to save your effects as presets (on the Effect tab of the Presets window), and then map the preset trigger buttons (numbered 1-12) to the buttons of your APC 40.
