issues with my crossfader..

Thing is my crossfader isn't smooth,jumps to the middle then the other side.the upfaders are ok though.what might be the problem..?

What hardware are you using? If it's hardware that you're using with Serato DJ - make sure that you delete the MIDI mapping for the crossfader, as it is automatically mapped when Serato DJ is running with compatible hardware.

im using the rane 57 or the pioneer 850 with the yamaha midi cable

Are you using Serato DJ, or Scratch Live? The Rane 57 will only be able to link when running Scratch Live - and the Pioneer mixers will need to be MIDI mapped directly.

the same thing i'm doing..i've midi mapped my pioneer mixer and i use scratch live with the 57

Ok, so perhaps we can just focus on one piece of hardware for the moment, the Rane 57. So, this isn't able to crossfade smoothly, but the upfaders are working fine? If so, can you check the Contour setting is disabled in the Transition section of MixEmergency's Preferences?

the up faders are ok,the contour settings is disabled..is it supposed to be that way..

Do you have Serato Video installed? If so, can you also make sure that the countouring is disabled in this software?

I'm just going to add my 10 pence in but thee is buttons above the cross fader but under the transition box for it to be smooth with the cross fader you need the left hand button highlighted the reason I think it's this is because I use the left hand button and mine is smooth , my mate uses the next button and with that one selected it jumps to the middle when you move the cross fader a little then to the other side when you get close to the opposite side just a thought Cheers Matt

Ah, that'll be the button to crossfade with the upfaders. Good spotting - that might be a reason.

tried that,still not working,i checked serato video,the fader isn't smooth either..
