Hello I keep my music videos on a 4TB Graid external firewire 800 drive. I keep my regular music files on internal hard drive (macbook pro, 2.66, 8GB ram, OSX 10.9.4). If I put a non-music video song on (from the internal drive), then i try to cue up a music video from the external a minute or so later, serato DJ gets a beach ball while the external drive spins up (i'm assuming that's why). It seems like when i don't use the external for a song or two, it goes to sleep or something. I will see the beach ball for, maybe 5-10 seconds or more. But that is a painful amount of time to stare at a beach ball during a gig:). This has been a consistent problem for me, but came to a head at a gig recently when the beach ball spun for a solid minute or two until the song ended (i went to a backup). I have 'put hard drives to sleep when possible' un-checked in system preferences. If I keep a music video from the external spinning at all times, i can avoid this problem. But I would like to also play mp3's from my internal drive (quartz and vj loops come on for the visuals). Any help is appreciated. I'm using Serato DJ 1.6.3 and Mix Emergency 2.6.1
