no audio capture when recording with ddj-sb

i bought a ddj-sb to try out and maybe use for smaller events. when i try to record i don't get levels from the SB in the recording pane and for sure nothing when i record and export. recording with my SX works with no problems. newest versions of serato dj and ME late 2012 macbook i5 8gb ram OSX 10.9.4 settings for the ddj-sb recording decks 1 and 2 apple lossless.

just thought about this...i'm still using the serato DJ 14 day trial. is it possible that this is a limitation of the demo?

I'm not sure of the channel assignments for this particular hardware, but when you select the Device as you go to start recording, can you make sure that the Channels are set to the last 2 channels. By default they'll be set to 1 & 2, but you want them to the be the last 2 (which will be something like 9 & 10, or 11 & 12, etc).

I believe 1 & 2 were the only options on this hardware. I'll confirm when I get home tonight but if there were any more I would have cycled through and tried them.

I think it might not be possible to record the audio directly via USB with this controller. There are other options though: 1) Use a separate USB Audio Interface to capture the audio from the analog output of the mixer. 2) Record the mix separately in Serato DJ, then you'll need to trim the file to line up with the exported video mix, and then combine the two files together into a single file.

That's kind of what I figured...Well that's somewhat disappointing. I'll probably just stick with the SX for recording and either return the SB or keep it as my main backup since I know it works well otherwise. Thanks for the help nick. And also I'm really enjoying playing with the sampler in the new version of ME so thanks for that as well.

I know I sold mine and picked up the DDJ-SZ due to that same issue
