dvjink Hi bro Nick i’m using the macbook pro i7 with 4gb ddr3..using SL and Me for videos..but the SL waveform are lagging even sometimes it take a while to load few videos..i can feel that that my macbook pro is like under power it stressing...my video format are mp4..would really need help on this...the waveform and the SL is really lagging..
Nick What version of Scratch Live are you using? I've heard reports of problems in Scratch Live 2.1 that result on an increased load on your CPU/hard-drive, which might be the cause of the problem.
Nick What size is your output screen? (e.g. 640x480) And, have you tried changing the refresh rates of your output monitor? (as suggested above)
dvjink bro how to check the output size of the screen and what is the refresh rates ...really sorry bro..
dvjink bro i just check the output size is 1440 x 900... bro what are the best setting at ME for my macbook pro?
Nick Ah, sorry, I mean the output size of your external monitor. You can see what size this is by opening the Info window in MixEmergency (when in full-screen mode on the external monitor). There's an "Output" field that should read something like "640 x 480" or "800 x 600", etc.
dvjink hey bro i really don’t know where is the info window for ME but i saw my setting in macbook pro it output window the output was1920 X 1080 60hz
dvjink hey bro sorry just saw the output window at ME it is 640 X 480..FPS is 30.2....pipeline 640 X 480...previews is 146 X 90...refresh rate is 59.9 hz
Nick Ok, that might explain things. I would suggest lowering the size of your output monitor (closer to 640x480 would be best). After this you should get better performance. The current size (1920x1080) is only really useful if you're playing high-definition content - and while you're MacBoook Pro is capable of this, it will be stressing your system unnecessarily.
Nick Is that (640x480) when you have ME in full-screen mode on your external monitor? If your output window is set to 1920 x 1080 then I would suggest lowering this to something closer to 640 x 480. The size 1920 x 1080 is only really useful if you're playing high-definition content - and while you're MacBoook Pro is capable of this, it will be stressing your system unnecessarily.
dvjink bro when i play the video it comes to output fps : 16.2....video ram 512mb...output 1920 X 1080...pipeline 1920 X 1080...previews 146 X 90....refresh rate 60 hz...media 1...dimension 640 X 360...frames bufferred 1024...sorry earlier i try to change at the mac output to 8 640 x 480....
Nick Ok, well, as I said above, reduce the size of your external monitor. If you can't do that, you could also try to reduce the Quality slider in the Display preferences of MixEmergency until the "Pipeline" size in the Info window is closer to 640x480.
dvjink bro i try to reduce the output of the ME but the quality output video is very bad...abit boxes..and bro what is the BEST setting for ME..letterbox or stretch?
Nick Are your videos 640 x 480? Most people's videos are. I would set your external monitor size to 1280 x 720, and then the Quality slider in MixEmergency to 50%. For the best setting for the "Scaling", I usually suggest Letterbox.... but that's just my personal preference.
dvjink thanks alot bro...my videos mostly are 640 X 360...do i need to convert all the videos to 640 X 480? bro what is the cache of ME to put..?and bro do i need to change any setting at my serato..?
Nick No, you don't need to convert your videos: 640 x 360 is good. You said that you have 4GB of RAM, so setting the cache of MixEmergency to anywhere between 1 and 2 GB would be fine. A larger cache is generally only useful if you're looping or re-triggering cue-points - so if you're not doing a lot of that, then I might recommend setting it even lower - 400 MB to 1 GB. You won't need to change any of your Scratch Live settings.
dvjink bro really thanks alot for the help..i use alot of midi i’m using svm1000...so i thought of having the best video output..bro there are no 1280 x 720 in my mac setting for output...?
