Can i show informations from the tags on a display

Hi there, it's my first post. i read this topic in serato video forum http://serato.com/forum/discussion/1349477#new and if is true this is the best reason for me to order the ΜΕ. Can i hope for your help? For the time and only in one gig (in all other i work with SeratoDJ) i'm using VDJ in bootcamp on my mac and run the SBDJ Scroll Text Effect (the macros don't run in mac version) to show informations from the tags on display. The fields from the tags that i use in this gig are these: Title, Artist, Album, Year, Composer, Comment, Genre and Cover. Best Regards, Panos Papageorgiou Greece

You can currently get the following tags sent to your Quartz Compositions: Title, Artist, and Album.

Yes. There are some example "Template" files in the Quartz Compositions folder that is included with the download. In these you will find references to the Title, Album, and Artist. More information about all the inputs can be found here: http://www.inklen.com/mixemergency/manual/quartzcompositions/

I tried with the MixEmergency Templates but i can't show any informations from the tags on the display. Anyway, thank you for your time.

Do you have Quartz Composer? They need to be edited, so that the values are sent to something to display.

Yes, i have quartz composer. One question before continue. It's easy for you to add some new inputs in these examples? I need except title, album, and artist for year, composer, comment, genre and less, the cover. If yes, i will order the ME now. If not, your help will be bounced. And something last, are there a demo video or image to i see how this overlay is over a video? The time that i have to start this series of gigs is fifteen days. Thank you.

It's not possible to get the year, composer, comment, genres, and cover unfortunately.

You'll need to connect them to other patches to create images. For example, the output of the Artist, to an Image with String patch, to a Billboard patch.

The crossfader movements seem to be working fine. I can load up 2 different tracks and fade between them with MixEmergency, and the artist/titles change correctly. As for the other part, I can help you out if you don't mind sharing your composition with others :)

Just a quick tip that I think will be helpful (for both the performance of the Quartz Composition, and the file size), and one that a lot of people could benefit from: If you have images that you're using in your Quartz Composition, try to resize them to a size that is close to the one that is displayed in the composition. For example, in this file is an image used as an icon for Facebook. Displayed on the screen, it's quite small. On an HD tv, it would probably only be 100 x 100 pixels at most, but in the file, it is 1500 x 1500 pixels. It's just taking up unecessary space - and will also increase the loading time of the composition, and the size of the memory required to hold it.
