can anyone point me to a tutorial that'll walk me thru this? it worked for me before (a year or so ago), now nothing.

Twitter changed their API. I'm not completely up-to-date on how most people have this working at the moment (other than through the service provided by VJ Xplicit).

does that mean the rss thing is likely not working? been trying that but getting nothing. of course twitter seems to be down now so i picked a good time :)

the twitter api no longer supports public rss. an application has to authenticate on your behalf in order to see your '@' and retweets. what this means is that you have to host some code on a server with your own twitter api credentials. your choices are on your own webserver or hosted somewhere else such as vj xplicit's site. I heard that Xplicit is not taking on any more people. Me personally i have a website, so i host my twitter feed code there.

I have a quick question regarding the hosting part.... (Sorry, but I am kind of new at this)... I already got my twitter API, I have a domain with GoDaddy, but I created my website (for free) using "www.moonfruit.com" . So having said this, where exactly am i supposed to upload the twitter files?

@joey00, i can see your feed when i click on the link. all thats left would be to use that url in the twitter quartz composition.

@truewind, if you can upload files to your site hosted at moonfruit, then you can use the the twitter code api. the site would have to be a linux version though.

@djnyce, well, the thing is that I have uploaded my Files to my website, but not in the traditional FTP kind of way as several of the youtube videos explain. since moon fruit is like wix (a site where you can build your website "powerpoint-style),i am almost certain that uploading those files is pretty much useless... Hence my follow up question is... If I get a hosting plan from let's say... "web.com"(which is .50 cents a month lol) where I would ONLY upload the TWITTER files, and even though my website is hosted on moon fruit, and the domain comes from go daddy, would that in theory work???

@truewind that would work. files can be hosted on server A, other files can be hosted on server B and as long as the files are in a folder that has read permissions, server C can access files on both server A and B. once you upload your files to web.com you point the twitter qc the path on web.com. so for example, www.web.com/truewind/twitter.php. and it doesn't matter where you register the domain. the nameserver setting is what tells godaddy where to send traffic to. if you ever change from moonfruit, you would change the nameservers at godaddy to the new hosts nameservers.

@djnyce, good to see you here bro, you've always been a fount of good information on the Serato forum. Could I ask where I can find the Twitter QC file to enable this ? I have my own hosting in place, just want to set it up.
