Video ouput running choppy on some videos.

Videos that previously ran smoothly before are now bogging down the output. I thought I was running two many video apps (VDMX), but running ME on my computer with nothing else running the video still gets choppy. Here are the specs of one video in particular Format - h.264 1920 x 1080 data rate 35.54 Computer specs 17 inch macbook pro 10.7.5 2.5 ghz intel core i7 16 gb ram running a ssd with a 1tb drive in the cd slot.

I'm not certain what the normal data rate for HD videos is, but 35.5 seems a bit high to me - but maybe it isn't? I'm not sure if this will help in this particular case, but upgrading to at least OS X 10.8 will help a little in regards to the choppiness on the output screen dues to graphics fixes/changes for external screens.

10.8 isn't available anymore. is 10.9 safe?

I would say yes, but so far Serato have not announced official compatibility with it.

10.9 is very safe it's what i'm gigging with,it's actually the best OSX i've used

the videos could be choppy too if you're converting at a very high bit rate...3000 - 3500 kbps is great in handbrake and causes no problems for dedicated graphics
