Mavericks multiple displays

hey guys. was playing with thunderbolt display outputs to see what could be done within mavericks. pretty cool that you can have 2 separate displays (thats all i tested) so the question is, would it be possible within ME (in a future update obviously) to have 2 output screens, and the option to put different quartz files / text / pictures etc etc admittedly probably something that would be used all the time, but pretty cool if you wanted to vary the screens up a bit Phil

It would be possible, I guess - though I'm not sure how many people would use it.

only reason i ask is because i do some weddings where they want they're photo's putting up and also some bars that want their adverts etc etc. but sometimes screen could get cluttered. was just thinking that option would make it work

I use 2 outs from my rmbp all the time. I use 1 out for fullscreen from mix emergency, and the second out for resolume. I run a syphon client in resolute that receives ME's signal, and when nothing else needs to be shown it just shows the full screen output from ME, but if I need to show images or videos I can just fade out the layer ME is on to reveal something else. Since I have the first output already fullscreen from ME, than some of the displays still have ME's output on it

that sounds cool. can you run quartz files over the top of the resolume too?

Yes, and resolume will pull in any published controls. So like drop zones, or position sliders or strings

Question…I may be acting a little dumb here but when ever i set up resolume to run with serato and ME I need extra desktops/spaces just to run everything, so i swipe between then my output window disappears as its on a different desktop. Does mavericks solve this issue?

Hmm, I'm not sure about this.

@mhand I usually use the "Command + Tab" shortcut to switch between programs and the output window stays put (I'm using Mac OSX Lion by the way). Are you swiping between them using the multi-touch trackpad feature?

Yeah I'm switching using multi-touch, but i guess keeping them on one screen and tabbing as you describe would help. Only issue with that is its doesn't seem very stage show friendly…my main focus will be the DJing on decks with visuals that work via controllers, APC and a midi mixer. If there was a way to see both screens at once and have an output then that would work, either that or its a 2nd person running resolume with the ME feed into it

Mavericks does solve this issue, by doing individual spaces per display
