Fresh Hi, I'm going to be switching my mac book soon. Which files or folders do i need to save in order to save all my settings and effects that are currently added to my videos? Thanks
Nick The main one is to copy across the folder: ~/Movies/MixEmergency/ The other thing you can copy across is the preferences file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.inklen.MixEmergency.plist
Fresh One more question. These are the two Macs that I am looking at. I would like to know if the 13 inch would be suitable to handle well with effects and HD videos. I don't do much scratching. Here are the specs and prices. Intel Core i7 processor 8GB of RAM 13-inch LED-backlit widescreen display 750GB hard drive $1499 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 quad 4GB of RAM An Intel HD graphics 4000 500GB hard drive $1799 Which one would be the better buy? Thanks
Nick While they should handle HD video mixing, generally I would recommend buying one with a more powerful graphics processor.
Fresh The 15 inch has NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB graphics card but is that worth the extra $300 bucks?
Fresh Ok. Here is the specs for both 13inch Model #: MD102LL/A 2.9GHz Intel Core i7 Dual-Core Ivy Bridge with Turbo Boost to 3.6 GHz L3: 4MB Slots: 2 Type: 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM Installed: 8GB Capacity: 16GB Type: Integrated Installed: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Shared 750GB 5400rpm 15inch Model #: MD103LL/A 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 Quad-Core Ivy Bridge with Turbo Boost to 3.3 GHz L3: 6MB Slots: 2 Type: 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM Installed: 4GB Capacity: 16GB Type: Integrated Installed: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Shared; NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB GDDR5 SDRAM 500GB 5400rpm
Dokumentary You gotta have that dedicated GPU! Definitely go with the 15". I have a 2012 MBP non-retina with the GeForce GT 650M 1gig VRAM and it works great. I'd definitely recommend going with at least 1 gig of video RAM.
Nick I would recommend the 15" - the graphics processor and quad-core CPU will be very useful if you're wanting to mix HD videos.
