ta2423 Fri. night was a little tipsy and accidentally unplugged the system during shut down and it skewed my ssl files. Back up is a year old so decided to update everything while updating year old folders and crates. I have been working with Serato 2.3.0 and M.E. 2.0.1 since their release. i saved them for back up and still work perfectly together when launched. I do have the serato video license etc. Problem is in Serato 2.4.4 and M.E. 2.0.1 with serato video enabled etc etc. When song is loaded in Serato the video does not play. If I load a video from serato directly to M.E. it shows the start of the video. There is something I am missing here and cannot figure it out. My older versions are saved in a separate folder. Possible conflict? I also downloaded the latest serato video update as well. Which does play the video. M.E. does have the green light that it is connected together in ssl. Mac OS X 10.6.8 - 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 Most likely a click of the mouse somewhere to fix it up. I combed through Serato forum and here and didn't see anything that could lead me in the right direction. Much appreciation. I will be upgrading to the $99 update soon, but for now this is what I have to work with. Rains
ta2423 Sorry forgot to mention. This is without hardware connected. I use the Rane 68 but have not tried with it connected yet.
Nick You will need to run MixEmergency 2.1 or higher if you're using Scratch Live 2.4. I also recommend that you restart your computer if you've switched between versions of Scratch Live that are compatible with Video-SL, and those that are compatible with Serato Video.
ta2423 I am updated with Serato 2.4.4 M.E. 2.1.0 and Serato Video. I restarted the macbook when I jump from older to newer to older versions. The older versions are still rock solid in performance. There is one other person with similar issues. http://serato.com/forum/discussion/986729#new I will post up a vid here in a few minutes. Maybe it will help me solve this.
Nick In the menu bar, at the top of the screen (while running MixEmergency), can you go to MixEmergency -> About MixEmergency, and let me know what the full version number is that you are using?
ta2423 Sorry mis-wrote the version in original post. Problem is in Serato 2.4.4 and M.E. 2.0.1 with serato video enabled etc etc. When song is loaded in Serato the video does not play. If I load a video from serato directly to M.E. it shows the start of the video. Meant to write 2.1.0
Nick I'm a little confused, sorry... If you're using Scratch Live 2.4 or higher, you need to use MixEmergency 2.1.0 - MixEmergency 2.0.1 will only work with lower versions of Scratch Live.
Nick Can you also try downloading and running the latest version of MixEmergency (2.2.0), and check to see if it is working fine?
ta2423 Serato 2.4.4 MixEmergency Version 2.1.0 (2.1.0.23) with Serato video enabled is what I am using and is being used in the above video . I will try running MixEmergency (2.2.0) tonight. I will also try to make a better video.
ta2423 Got it all dialed in now. Today for some reason the videos wouldn't play until I dragged the same video in M.E. a second time. After I did that all versions worked together and played with just dropping the track into serato. Problem? Who knows... Solved? Yes. You Dj so bad the updated versions don't work for you. I did start with the 2.2 Demo today. Did the same thing until I dropped the video in M.E. a second time. I will drop the $100 on you next week for the full upgrade. Thanks Nick.
Nick That's odd - but I'm glad you've got it working now. I'll have a look over the code and see if I can see any possible explanation for this behaviour. Let me know if you have any further issues.
ta2423 Most likely something going on in my system. I will launch everything several times before this weekends gig just to make sure I don't end up with issues live.
ta2423 Ok Nick, Still a problem but not as I described above. I was able to spend a little more time on everything today. Its probably a setting that I am missing but I may be wrong. Serato 2.4.4 MixEmergency Version 2.1.0 (2.1.0.23) with Serato video enabled. I open ssl let it load up. I open M.E. and drop a song in ssl. The song plays in ssl but doesn't show the video in M.E. The green light is on showing they are linked. Now if I take that same song while its playing and drop it manually into M.E. it plays. If I load another song in ssl it plays in ssl but the same video from the last song is playing in M.E. If I take the song playing in ssl. and manually drop it into M.E. it plays the video. If you don't understand what I am trying to say heres another way to say it. I have to load the song in ssl then manually load it into M.E. for it to play on both ssl and M.E. with every song this has to be done. If I dont manually load the second song into M.E. it will just play the first song I dropped into it over and over until I manually load it. Its gotta be a setting somewhere that I am missing.
Nick When this occurs, can you also run MixEmergency 2.2, and just confirm whether or not the exact same thing happens with that?
ta2423 It i doing the exact same with 2.2 in demo mode as it is with MixEmergency Version 2.1.0 (2.1.0.23).
Nick We might have to do some more in-depth trouble-shooting. Can you send me an e-mail (to: contact@inklen.com), and I'll see what I can do about it once I'm back in the office on Monday.
